Bullock’s Bionic Beginning, A Billionaire’s Boat, And Mega Millions Dreams

Hit the jackpot Friday and you can take care of Shad Khan’s yacht for a year and have enough left over for a bionic man

Take the cash option after you hit the jackpot in Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing — it’s set at an estimated $42.3 million ($94 million if you go the annuity route) — and you’ll have enough money to A) create the Six Million Dollar Man and B) maintain Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s yacht for one calendar year.

First, the Six Million Dollar Man: Cool show. Spawned a massive catchphrase in the ’70s: “We can rebuild him. We have the technology.”

Also — fun fact — the show eventually launched the career of Sandra Bullock, who was plucked from performing off-broadway to star in 1989’s made-for-TV movie spinoff, Bionic Showdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman. It is 100% worth a peek.

OK, so that will cost you $6 million. Obviously. That leaves you with $36.3 million. So, on to Khan’s yacht: It’s worth (an estimated) $450 million, and is currently docked in New Orleans for the Super Bowl. This floating behemoth features a two-deck master suite with a private hot tub and dual bathrooms, a gym, yoga studio, juice bar, treatment room with specialized amenities, two beauty salons, and basketball and pickleball courts and water sports options.

It can sleep — this is the best part — 12 guests. Unreal. It’s also 400 feet long. A football field, with end zones, is 360 feet.

And the cost to maintain Khan’s yacht for one year is $36 million.

So, the math checks out — if you win Mega Millions, you can be both rebuilt and maintain a yacht for a year.

Anyway, nobody won the jackpot Tuesday — the numbers were 14, 24, 31, 53, 54, and a gold Mega Ball of 1 — although one ticket-buyer in New York hit all five white balls for a million-dollar prize. (Which would be enough for maybe Sandy Bullock’s bionic pinkie and bathroom cleanup duties on Khan’s yacht.)

Lottery Geeks estimates 9.2 million tickets were sold for Tuesday’s drawing.

Nearly two years of yacht maintenance …

… That’s what you’ll get if you win Powerball Saturday night, as the estimated jackpot is at $133 million, with a cash value of $60.3 million.

Nobody hit the big prize Wednesday — numbers 19, 27, 30, 50, 62, with a red Powerball of 14 — and there were also the sum total of zero Match 5 winners.

Lottery Geeks estimates 9 million tickets were sold for Wednesday’s drawing.

Tickets for either lottery cost $2, with most states offering the multiplier option — which impacts any prize won except the jackpot — for an additional $1.

Both Powerball and Mega Millions are legal in all states except Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. Tickets for both draw games are also sold in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Puerto Rico, customers can buy tickets for Powerball, but not for Mega Millions.
