Win The Powerball Jackpot Wednesday, Have More Money Than Adele

If someone wins, they’ll be rolling in the deep … and the dough

      adele

It’s good to be Adele. The superstar singer just turned down $100 million (!) to extend her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

      Why?

According to Life & Style, it’s so the 36-year-old can marry her fiance, Rich Paul, and start having a family.

Good for you, Adele. And, of course, it doesn’t hurt that her net worth is sitting at around $220 million to begin with. We’d sure say she’s rolling in the deep, yeah?

And you know who else might be rolling in the deep with about $220 million? You, if you happen to be the sole winner for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, as the jackpot is an estimated $223 million (with a $112.2 million cash option, which, as it turns out, probably wouldn’t be enough to convince Adele to continue her residency in your living room — though it wouldn’t hurt to ask).

Wednesday’s drawing with be the 16th since the last jackpot winner was crowned, back on Aug. 19, when a $44 million jackpot ticket was purchased in California.

The winning numbers for Monday’s drawing were 15, 21, 25, 37, and 45 and a red Powerball of 19. One lucky winner matched the five white balls to take home a million bucks, and Lottery Geeks estimates nearly 10.3 million tickets were sold.

      Mega Millions continues to grow

There was no winner in the most recent Mega Millions drawing either — Friday’s numbers were 20, 21, 40, 49, and 55, with a gold Mega Ball of 11 — pushing Tuesday night’s jackpot to an estimated $62 million, with a cash option of $31 million.

But despite no jackpot winner, a pair of millionaires were minted — one ticket sold in New Jersey, the other in California — when players hit everything but the Mega Ball.

Lottery Geeks estimates some 11.1 million tickets were sold for Friday’s drawing.

Tickets for either lottery cost $2, with most states offering a multiplier option for an additional $1.

Both lotteries are legal in all states except Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah, and tickets are also sold in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Puerto Rico, customers can buy tickets for Powerball, but not Mega Millions.
