Massachusetts Selects Aristocrat As Vendor For Online Lottery Platform
Repeatedly delayed iLottery launch now targeted for summer 2026

By unanimous vote of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission (MSLC), the Bay State selected Aristocrat Interactive — also known as NeoGames US LLP — as the vendor for its forthcoming iLottery platform, the parties announced Monday.
The contract begins July 1, 2026 and runs five years, plus it includes three opportunities for three-year extensions.
The services Aristocrat is contracted to provide “will include a comprehensive iLottery platform solution, game content including eInstants and draw games, proprietary central gaming and player account management systems, and a market-leading aggregation platform for third-party game content,” according to the press release announcing the decision.
It’s been a longer-than-expected road to this point for the Massachusetts Lottery.
Gov. Maura Healey signed the state’s budget back on July 29, 2024, officially approving the launch of online lottery play and projecting a December 2025 launch.
The rollout, however, has run into repeated delays — in keeping with the deliberate tendencies of Massachusetts gaming officials. The launch was pushed back to spring 2026 and then, last December, bumped again to an estimated summer 2026 debut.
MSLC Executive Director Mark William Bracken is sticking with that timing, although his response to Boston’s WWLP-22 News when pressed indicates there’s wiggle room.
“You know, we’re saying summer of ’26,” Bracken told the local outlet. “I would love it to be early summer of ’26 as opposed to late summer of ’26.”
The bigger the sales, the better for Aristocrat
Bracken further explained to WWLP-22 News that the lottery and Aristocrat have contracted for a revenue-sharing model, whereby Aristocrat can be paid up to 5% of the Massachusetts Lottery’s online sales revenue.
“After a comprehensive and competitive process, Aristocrat Interactive demonstrated the best value for the Commonwealth,” Bracken said in the press release. “Partnering with Aristocrat Interactive provides us with a proven, successful platform that will allow the Lottery to fulfill its mission of maximizing funding for early childhood education and care that will benefit families throughout the Commonwealth.”
Aristocrat Interactive CEO Moti Malul added: “We are extremely proud to be selected as the partner for MSLC — after a highly competitive process. … We look forward to helping the MSLC deliver on its objective to expand player engagement through innovative and responsible online play, and further enhance their ability to contribute to and support local communities. Our commitment to iLottery together with our diverse and proven platform solutions and top performing content portfolio, trusted people and seamless integration, is what sets us apart.”
Massachusetts is not Aristocrat’s only foray into iLottery operations. The company began working with the New Hampshire Lottery last month and has signed a six-year agreement with the Michigan Lottery that begins next July, the same month as the Massachusetts contract.
