The acronym IWG stands for Instant Win Gaming — and the iLottery game supplier’s latest announcement is all about injecting more excitement into those instant wins.
IWG announced Wednesday the launch of InstantFuse, its new prizing mechanism that allows prizes across multiple tiers in eInstant games, including progressive jackpots, to combine into a single prize. InstantFuse made its debut within Rocket Jackpots, the newest entry in IWG’s multi-state progressive portfolio.
One key element of InstantFuse is that the combined jackpots are only available during designated daily windows of play, not continuously, an approach IMG is taking to keep things fresh and attempt to minimize “jackpot fatigue.”
“InstantFuse is a true step-change in how jackpot games can be experienced,” said IWG Executive Vice President Jason Lisieki in a release. “For the first time, lotteries can create scheduled moments where multiple jackpots combine into a single, more powerful prize. It’s a simple concept with a big impact, enhancing player excitement while supporting a sustainable jackpot ecosystem.”
Two states, for now
Initially, the prizing change is only available in North Carolina and Virginia.
Rocket Jackpots are active in those two states and are split into Power Jackpots and Boost Jackpots, two independent, branded ways to win. With InstantFuse, during the scheduled daily windows they will merge into the single Power Boost Jackpot, creating a possibility of enhanced wins in iLottery games played at those times.
“Rocket Jackpots represents the next evolution of our progressive offering,” said Virginia Lottery Strategic Games Manager Corey Klingel. “With InstantFuse at its core, we’re introducing a new way for players to experience jackpots — bringing them together in moments that truly matter.”
Rocket Jackpots is responsible for the largest eInstant win in American iLottery history, a $6.7 million jackpot claimed by a woman in New Bern, North Carolina last April.
IWG has supplied digital eInstant games for 20 years to lotteries that are members of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries or the World Lottery Association.
InstantFuse, like all IWG progressive mechanisms, is powered by InstantRGS, its remote game server.
