      Ten down, 35-40 to go.

Lotto.com, a digital lottery courier that sells official state lottery draw games and scratch tickets through an online ordering system, announced Tuesday morning its entry into a tenth state, Arizona.

“Today marks a great milestone for our team at Lotto.com, as we proudly launch the platform in our tenth state,” Lotto.com CEO Thomas Metzger said in a release announcing the news. “The expansion not only highlights our brand’s continuous growth, but also reaffirms our dedication to revolutionizing the lottery industry across the nation.”

The launch in Arizona comes just over two months after Lotto.com’s previous expansion, into Nebraska in early April.

Among the major competing lottery courier companies, Jackpocket is also active in Arizona, which Jackpot.com is not. So, as was the case in Nebraska, Lotto.com becomes the second courier option in the state.

In addition to Nebraska and Arizona, Lotto.com is available in Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, New Jersey (where the company is headquartered), New York, Ohio, Oregon, and Texas.

      Scratching a digital itch

Lotto.com, which first launched in June 2021, was the first to market with digital scratch tickets in June 2023, part of why the company describes itself as “redefining the lottery landscape with its secure, convenient, and seamless online lottery experience.”

The courier reports that it has a customer base of more than 1.9 million people and has contributed about $85 million to state-funded lottery programs.

That aligns nicely with the Arizona Lottery’s funding aims, which include supporting community programs and causes from education to the environment to economic development. In the 2023 fiscal year, the Arizona Lottery contributed more than $318 million to these programs.

Arizona customers can play national games Powerball and Mega Millions, state games Fantasy 5 and The Pick, and digital scratch tickets.
