The Michigan Lottery’s mobile app got a makeover this month, and the tech company behind it, Ann Arbor-based Gambyt, is making a point of showing off the new product.
“Michigan Lottery’s new mobile app is live — and we’re proud to have helped bring it to life,” the company posted last week on LinkedIn. “Built for speed, stability, intuitive navigation, and a more engaging player experience, the redesigned app brings together smarter game discovery, an all-new ticket scanner, and Gambyt-powered features across retail and digital play.”
An article on Gambyt’s website attributed to CEO Danny Bogus shares assorted screenshots of the new-look app, showing major draw games like Powerball, iLottery-specific game libraries, and more.

Michigan is one of 10 states (plus Washington, D.C.) with a full iLottery platform. In 2014 it became among the first to launch, and its mobile lottery app includes Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto 47, assorted daily games, and instant-win games.
What are the upgrades?
Gambyt’s post details the various enhancements to the app, highlighting the following:
- Lobby navigation: In what Gambyt calls “a completely reimagined game discovery experience,” the app curates content, recommends games based on prior history, and allows users to mark games as favorites so they’re easily accessible.
- Ticket scanning: The app features a new scanner “designed to create a faster, more engaging interaction for players.”
- Flexible plugins: Gambyt has a trademarked feature called “Portal Plugins,” and they’re part of the new Michigan Lottery app. Examples of these plugins include Scan-to-Earn, Global Search, and Claim Appointments.
“We extend our congratulations to the Michigan Lottery team for their vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to innovation,” Bogus wrote in his post. “Throughout our partnership, the Michigan Lottery has consistently embraced new ideas and technologies that enhance the player experience and help advance the lottery industry.”
