West Virginia Lottery Going Digital, Launching iPlay And PlayOn Thursday

Like sports betting and casino gaming in the U.S., the online segment of lottery play continues to grow. West Virginia Lottery is now joining the list of iLottery states, set to modernize lottery participation with the launch of its “iPlay” platform on Thursday.
iPlay enables users to purchase tickets and play electronic instant-win games, or “e-Instants,” directly from their smartphones or tablets, removing the need to visit physical retailers. The iPlay platform could potentially increase participation by making the lottery more accessible and engaging for tech-savvy players.
The e-Instant games are at the heart of iPlay’s appeal. Much like traditional scratch-off tickets, these digital versions offer players the chance to win cash prizes instantly. However, they take the experience a step further by adding interactive features that allow players to enjoy animated or visually engaging elements.
Given the potential for excessive spending in the realm of online gaming, iPlay has incorporated multiple features to encourage responsible gaming. Age verification, self-exclusion options, and spending limit controls are integrated into the app, giving players the ability to enjoy the lottery responsibly and within their personal financial limits.
