Pollard Banknote Limited, a provider of lottery products and services, has secured a contract to provide a full turnkey iLottery solution for the Kansas Lottery. This move, which allows the Kansas Lottery to tap into the growing demand for digital lottery services, is expected to bring a significant boost to the state’s revenue starting in early 2025.

The contract, which was finalized following the exercise of an option under the Kansas Lottery’s existing Player Loyalty Program contract, will be powered by Pollard Banknote’s proprietary Pollard Catalyst Gaming Platform. The existing contract runs through Oct. 31, 2026.

Pollard Banknote’s iLottery solution is designed to provide the full spectrum of components needed to operate in a modern and efficient manner. When it launches, the Kansas iLottery will enable players to participate online in popular games such as Mega Millions and Powerball. It will also allow them to access a range of eInstant games designed specifically by Pollard Digital Games Studio for Kansas players.

A standout feature of Pollard Banknote’s offering is its Player Account Management (PAM) system. This system will handle functions such as user registration, identity verification, payments, and responsible gaming applications. These functionalities are critical in maintaining the integrity and safety of the lottery system, particularly as it transitions into the digital space.

Pollard Banknote will also integrate its advanced geolocation services through its proprietary GeoLocs technology. This solution is designed to ensure that only players within Kansas state lines can participate in the iLottery.

Enhancing player engagement and state revenue

One of the advantages touted by the Pollard Catalyst Gaming Platform is its ability to integrate with the Kansas Lottery’s existing PlayOn Player Loyalty Program. This integration is expected to offer current PlayOn users immediate access to the new iLottery platform without the need for re-registration.

In addition to the technological solutions, Pollard Banknote will provide the Kansas Lottery with a suite of business services. These services include marketing, draw operations, risk management, and a dedicated player support center. The combination of these services is designed to maximize the lottery’s revenue while ensuring the iLottery’s strict adherence to responsible gaming practices.

Pollard Banknote’s extensive experience in the iLottery market is a key factor in its selection for this contract, according to the company’s press release. The company’s track record includes the successful launch of the Michigan Lottery’s iLottery program in 2014, which, by 2020, became the first in North America to surpass $1 billion in annual sales.

This success led to the formation of NeoPollard Interactive LLC, a joint venture between Pollard Banknote and its technology partner. This partnership has since launched some of the most profitable iLottery programs in the U.S., including those in Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.

According to Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, these four states collectively represent over 70% of iLottery gross wagers in the U.S., underscoring the effectiveness of Pollard Banknote’s approach.
