Online lottery courier service Jackpot.com has struck a deal with The Associated Press (AP), becoming the official provider of U.S. lottery results to the news organization as well as its official lottery courier.

Through the partnership, Jackpot.com gains wide exposure in news media while the AP can offer its vast audience comprehensive and reliable lottery information.

Jackpot.com will deliver official results for various state lotteries directly to AP. This data will be integrated into APNews.com, providing readers easy access to the latest winning lottery numbers. Additionally, AP customers will benefit from a dedicated “lottery results feed” powered by Jackpot.com.

This feed will provide real-time updates on drawings, jackpots, and relevant lottery news. It will give AP’s extensive network of affiliates and media outlets the ability to deliver accurate and timely information to their audiences.

The partnership extends beyond the results and data feeds. Jackpot.com, which became a member of the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries in May, will also facilitate ticket purchases for AP readers in the six states where the company currently operates as a lottery courier. After adding New Jersey in May, Jackpot.com is now available in six states, including Arkansas, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, and Texas.

“Working with The Associated Press as their official lottery courier and provider of state lottery results marks a pivotal moment for us at Jackpot.com,” said Akshay Khanna, CEO and co-founder of Jackpot.com. “This collaboration not only helps provider readers with the latest lottery drawing results, but enables them to seamlessly and responsibly purchase lottery tickets online. Through AP’s extensive reach, we’re not just selling tickets; we’re transforming the landscape of lottery gaming.”

      Embracing the gambling space

Khanna further highlighted the company’s commitment to player safety, noting, “We are the only lottery courier service to launch with iCap certification from the National Council on Problem Gambling. This certification demonstrates our dedication to providing a safe and secure platform for lottery players.”

The iCap certification is a nice distinction for Jackpot.com. Bestowed by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), a leading organization dedicated to promoting responsible gambling practices, the iCap certification signifies that Jackpot.com’s platform adheres to rigorous standards designed to prevent and minimize problem gambling behavior. This includes features like age verification, spending limits, and self-exclusion options, ensuring players have the tools they need to gamble responsibly.

While terms are undisclosed, the partnership between Jackpot.com and AP appears logical for both parties. AP gains a reliable source for comprehensive lottery data, enhancing its news offerings and catering to the growing public interest in lotteries. Jackpot.com, meanwhile, leverages AP’s reach to expand its user base and establish itself as a trusted name in the online lottery space.

With Jackpot.com actively seeking licenses in additional states, the potential exists for AP customers in more regions to offer ticket purchasing services. Additionally, the integration of Jackpot.com’s data feed could lead to innovative ways for AP and its affiliates to present lottery information, potentially including interactive features or data visualizations.
