Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour Takes In More Than Wednesday’s Powerball Jackpot

Some things you might be: kind, well-mannered, never pulled off a $400 million music tour.

Some things you definitely aren’t: Beyonce.

We bring Beyonce up today because she just finished her “Cowboy Carter” tour that saw the R&B and pop diva turn into a country star. She only did 32 shows in nine cities, just finished up in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, and, according to a USA Today report, grossed a shade over $400 million.

This makes it the highest grossing country tour in recorded history. It’s also the shortest tour to hit that amount.

And while Beyonce had to shimmy, shake, and sing her way to $400 million, all you have to do is buy a Powerball ticket. However, you’d still win slightly less, as Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is up to a lofty $384 million. We here at Lottery Geeks would definitely put a ring on that.

Wednesday’s draw will mark the 27th since the last time someone won a Powerball jackpot.

While nobody won Monday night’s drawing — numbers 7, 35, 36, 43, 62, and a red Powerball of 3 — one lucky ticket buyer in California matched all five white balls and took home $1 million.

Lottery Geeks estimates 11.3 million tickets were sold for Monday’s drawing.

Mega ticks up

Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing is up to $130 million after nobody won Friday night’s draw.

The numbers were 14, 21, 25, 49, 52m and a gold Mega Ball of 7. Nobody matched all five white balls.

Lottery Geeks estimates 5.3 million tickets were sold for Friday’s drawing.

Tickets for Mega Millions cost $5, while Powerball tickets cost $2, with most states offering the multiplier option for Powerball — which impacts any prize won except the jackpot — for an additional $1. Mega Millions comes with an automatic multiplier for any prize except the jackpot.

Both Powerball and Mega Millions are legal in all states except Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. Tickets for both draw games are also sold in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Puerto Rico, customers can buy tickets for Powerball, but not for Mega Millions.
