Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall, Who Has The Biggest Jackpot Of Them All?

If you’re either a lottery player or an executive at Disney, this is a sleepy week.

Why? Well, Mega Millions is the biggest lottery in the land right now, and it sits at a bashful (and estimated) $43 million after nobody won Tuesday night’s drawing.

Those numbers, for those keeping score at home, were 11, 12, 21, 29, 49, and a gold Mega Ball of 3. Nobody won the dopey top prize, although one happy ticket-buyer in Pennsylvania matched all five white balls and bought the Megaplier, which came in at 2x. That’s good for $2 million, and probably worth a trip to the doc for a full physical. Got to keep in tip-top shape once you win that kind of money.

Lottery Geeks estimates 9.3 million tickets were sold for Tuesday’s drawing, leaving many ticket-buyers — A-CHOO!!! (sorry for being sneezy) — a little bit grumpy.

As for those Disney execs? While Snow White opened last week to a $43 million dollar box office — the same number as Mega Millions for Friday’s draw — it came in well under expectations. But it allowed us to get all seven dwarfs name-checked in this story, so we’re happy.

Just for fun, let’s rename the dwarfs to lottery-themed monikers: Scratchy, Lucky, Ping Pong, Pop, QuickPick, Mega, and Lemme Get A Packa Marlboros Also.

Powerball winless streak at … one

Nobody won Monday’s Powerball — after a ticket-buyer in California cleaned up in Saturday’s drawing — which makes Wednesday night’s jackpot an estimated $30 million with a $13.9 million cash option.

The numbers for Monday’s draw were 12, 41, 44, 52, and 64, with a red Powerball of 25. There were no Match 5 winners.

Lottery Geeks estimates a mere 6.2 million tickets were sold for Monday’s drawing.

Tickets for either lottery cost $2 (although that will soon be changing), with most states offering the multiplier option — which impacts any prize won except the jackpot — for an additional $1.

Both Powerball and Mega Millions are legal in all states except Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. Tickets for both draw games are also sold in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Puerto Rico, customers can buy tickets for Powerball, but not for Mega Millions.
